The event also attracted media, horse enthusiasts, and the photography community to witness this momentous occasion.

This gathering was a testament to the unique synergy between Canadian and Bahraini educational excellence. At the heart of this occasion was the unveiling of the Horse Arena, Stables, and horse equipment facilities, highlighting the commitment to providing students with a comprehensive and enriching educational experience that provides an innovative curriculum tailored to foster global citizenry, underlining the importance of preparing students for a connected world.

A significant focus was also placed on the holistic approach of the curriculum, which emphasizes not only academic prowess but also the social, emotional, and physical development of students. This approach champions critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaborative achievements, encouraging students to explore beyond traditional educational boundaries.

Ms. Leeaan – CSB COACH: “This year’s program will introduce our younger students to the wonderful world of horses with a combination of classroom and ringside instruction. The elementary grades in our Rookie Riders afterschool program will study horse care, tack, and safety, leading to introductory riding. While our experienced riders will have the opportunity to practice their skills while they learn about stable management, nutrition, and a higher level of horse care. To talk about the next steps of our program it my pleasure to introduce you to Mr. Bill the Senior Principal of Canadian School Bahrain.

In his remarks, Founder Mr. Abdulghaffar Al Kooheji articulately reflected on the profound significance of equestrianism, drawing inspiration from Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). He quoted, “The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said: ‘Goodness is tied to the forelocks of horses until the Day of Judgment.” Mr. Al Kooheji further referenced the Quran, citing, “And prepare against them whatever you are able of power and of steeds of war by which you may terrify the enemy of Allah and your enemy and others besides them whom you do not know [but] whom Allah knows.” (Quran 8:60)

Showing the historical and cultural importance of horses, Mr. Al Kooheji emphasized their critical role in shaping ethics, social, political, and military relations throughout history. He highlighted how horsemanship instils virtues such as masculinity, adherence to noble morals, courage in challenging situations, a sense of responsibility towards family and community, and a commitment to high values, including aiding the distressed, defending the weak, and respecting women. He quoted the famous Arab poet Al-Mutanabbi, who said, “Horses are like a true friend, scarce; even if they appear plentiful to those who do not experience them.”

Mr. Al Kooheji expressed his vision that by introducing a global educational curriculum that integrates local customs, traditions, and Arab-Islamic heritage, CSB aim to nurture a generation that is aware, cultured, and proud of its identity. He concluded by saying that today’s inauguration opens up new horizons for future generations, fostering development beyond academic excellence and personal growth.

A highlight of the event was a performance by CSB students, reflecting the rich Bahraini culture and underscoring the school’s role in shaping future leaders of the country.

The opening of the Equestrian at CSB and its program marks the Canadian School of Bahrain (CSB) as a leader in private education, recognizing its dedication to setting high standards in educational excellence and innovation.
