Canadian School Bahrain Inaugurated in the presence of Minister of Education

Canadian School Bahrain (CSB) celebrated its official opening in a grand ceremony attended by His Excellency Dr. Mohamed bin Mubarak Juma, Minister of Education. The event was also graced by the presence of the school’s founder, Mr. Abdulghaffar AlKooheji, along with various ministry officials, school representatives, and distinguished guests.

His Excellency, the Minister of Education, inaugurated the school by unveiling a commemorative plaque, followed by a tour of the school’s facilities. The tour showcased the school’s innovative classrooms and the British Columbia (BC) curriculum, noted for its emphasis on core competencies in communication, critical thinking, and creative thinking. His Excellency also visited the equestrian field and sports grounds, which cater to a wide range of physical activities.

On this occasion, His Excellency Dr. Mohamed bin Mubarak Juma congratulated the school’s board, faculty, and staff on the official opening. He highlighted the significant role of the private sector in investing in education through establishing distinguished educational institutions, contributing to the educational progress in the prosperous era of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and under the government’s support led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister. He commended the school’s efforts in adopting the best programs, curricula, and teaching methods, and providing an environment that fosters creativity, innovation, and excellence.

Eng. Abdulraheem AlKooheji, Chairman of the Canadian School Bahrain, expressed his delight at the Minister’s presence and the distinguished guests, stating, “We are happy to celebrate the school’s official opening, which represents a blend of global educational standards, Bahraini culture, and Islamic values.”

Mrs. Mariam AlKooheji, Head of Executive Committee of Canadian School Bahrain, in her speech, expressed immense pleasure at the official opening. She highlighted the school’s aim to provide an educational model that blends global standards with Bahraini cultural values, fostering a generation endowed with knowledge and high noble values, capable of achieving positive change in their society. She extended gratitude to all who contributed to the school’s founding journey, including teachers, administrators, parents, and students, for turning the dream of establishing the school into a tangible reality.

Ms. Susanne Penner, British Columbia Offshore School representative, in her address, emphasized that Canadian School Bahrain is an inspiration of progress in the region and a bridge between Bahrain and Canada. She remarked on the depth of the bonds between the two nations and the school’s distinctive role in combining cultural and academic excellence.

Student Albandary Janahi, on behalf of her peers, thanked attendees for their participation in the opening and their support for education, expressing the students’ pride in being part of the school and their role in shaping the kingdom’s future.

The ceremony included a student musical performance and a video presentation highlighting the stages of the school’s establishment and its offerings.
