Guidance and care across every stage of the CSB journey
At Canadian School Bahrain, the Counseling Department supports the holistic development of students through academic guidance, personal care, and meaningful partnership with families and staff.
Led by Dr. Faleh Al Rowili, the department helps students grow with confidence, resilience, and purpose while supporting their personal, emotional, and social wellbeing. Through individualized counseling, values-based learning, interactive workshops, and student engagement initiatives, our counseling team works to ensure that every learner is known, supported, and encouraged to thrive.
Supporting academic and personal growth
At our Guidance and Counseling Department, we are committed to supporting the holistic development of students, blending academic guidance with personal care.
Our team is focused on nurturing each student’s unique potential, paving the way for academic success and well-rounded personal development. Through a caring and student-centred approach, counseling at CSB helps learners build confidence, strengthen character, and develop the life skills needed to thrive in school and beyond.
Building confidence, belonging, and positive foundations
The Elementary School counseling team helps young learners feel safe, supported, and ready to grow. At this stage, counseling focuses on relationships, emotional awareness, self-expression, and the development of healthy routines that strengthen both wellbeing and learning.
Working closely with teachers and families, the team supports students as they build confidence, practise kindness and responsibility, and learn how to navigate everyday challenges in constructive ways.
- Support for emotional wellbeing, friendships, and classroom adjustment.
- Guidance that helps children develop self-awareness, empathy, and confidence.
- Early intervention and partnership with families to nurture positive growth.
Guiding students through change, identity, and growing independence
The Middle School counseling team supports students during a formative period of transition and self-discovery. As learners grow in independence and responsibility, counselors help them manage social dynamics, emotional changes, academic expectations, and decision-making with greater confidence.
This stage is centred on helping students strengthen resilience, communication, and personal responsibility while maintaining a strong sense of connection to the school community.
- Support for social development, self-management, and emotional resilience.
- Guidance for navigating adolescence, peer relationships, and academic balance.
- Programmes and conversations that build confidence, responsibility, and student voice.
Preparing students for purpose, wellbeing, and future pathways
The High School counseling team works with students as they prepare for the demands and opportunities of the years ahead. Counseling at this level supports wellbeing, personal growth, leadership, and future planning while helping students navigate increasing academic pressure with clarity and balance.
Through individual guidance, group support, and collaboration with families and school leaders, students are encouraged to make thoughtful choices, strengthen their sense of identity, and move forward with ambition and purpose.
- Support for wellbeing, self-advocacy, leadership, and responsible decision-making.
- Guidance through academic pressures, personal development, and future readiness.
- A student-centred approach that helps learners grow with confidence and direction.
Together, the Elementary, Middle, and High School counseling teams form a continuous network of care that reflects the Counseling Department’s wider purpose: to provide a supportive and enriching environment where every student can grow academically, personally, and socially.
