Dear Parents and Families,
It is my pleasure to welcome you and your children to a new academic year at the Canadian School Bahrain.
My name is Maria Gharibian, and I am delighted to introduce myself as the new Head of Elementary. I bring more than 20 years of experience in education, with a professional journey that has included teaching, counseling, and special education. These experiences have shaped my approach to education and strengthened my belief in seeing and supporting the whole child.
It is a privilege to join the CSB community and to work alongside our dedicated teachers, staff, students, and families as we continue building a positive, engaging, and successful learning experience for every child.
At CSB Elementary, we want every student to feel that they have a place where they can learn with confidence, receive the support they need, and be encouraged to discover what they are capable of achieving. Our aim is not only to provide strong academic foundations through the British Columbia curriculum, but also to help our students grow into confident, responsible, caring, and thoughtful individuals who are proud of who they are and ready to contribute positively to the world around them.
The elementary years are an important stage in a child’s development. They are a time for discovery, building friendships, developing independence, learning from challenges, and discovering individual strengths and talents. Our classrooms therefore aim to be places where students are encouraged to explore ideas, express their thinking, learn through discovery, collaborate with others, challenge themselves, and gradually take greater responsibility for their own learning.
I strongly believe that children benefit most when families and the school maintain a strong and trusting relationship. Regular communication, mutual respect, and a shared understanding of each child’s needs allow us to celebrate progress together and respond constructively when support is needed. I look forward to working closely with our parents throughout the year and building a positive partnership around the growth and wellbeing of every child.
As we begin this new academic year, my priority is to ensure that our Elementary School remains a place where children feel happy and safe, where learning is meaningful and purposeful, and where every student is encouraged to grow academically, socially, emotionally, and personally.
I look forward to meeting you, getting to know our students and families, and sharing a year filled with learning, growth, achievement, and memorable experiences.
