Canadian School Bahrain Organizes “Space for Sustainability Fair 2025”

Featuring Broad Student Participation and Distinguished Official Attendance

In a pioneering step to promote environmental awareness and connect science to global challenges, Canadian School Bahrain hosted a remarkable event titled “Space for Sustainability Fair 2025.” The exhibition witnessed active participation from CSB students across all grade levels, as well as students from various schools across the Kingdom of Bahrain. The event also drew significant official attendance, including representatives from international organizations and prominent educational figures.

The expo aimed to shed light on the vital role that space technologies—such as satellites and remote sensing—play in supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and addressing urgent environmental and social issues, including climate change, clean energy, water, health, education, and equality.

The event was honored by the presence of Ms. Jehan AlMurbati, United Nations Representative in Bahrain, who commended the school’s vision and mission in instilling a culture of sustainability among students. She emphasized that investing in conscious education is key to achieving the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda.

Among the attending guests were Ms. Mariam Al-Kooheji, Chair of the Executive Committee; Dr. Bilal Dandashi, School Principal; and Ms. Abby Saadeh, Academic Director—all of whom expressed pride in the level of innovation and quality of student projects, and reaffirmed Canadian School Bahrain’s role in delivering education that combines scientific inquiry, human values, and environmental consciousness.

Visitors engaged with 13 interactive stations, each focusing on a specific pillar of sustainable development. Students presented creative, science-based projects demonstrating how space technologies can drive positive change in communities, while also promoting critical thinking, teamwork, and a shared vision for a more sustainable future.

In her speech at the expo, Ms. Mariam Al-Kooheji, Chair of the Executive Committee, stated:

“This expo embodies our vision at Canadian School Bahrain—to cultivate a generation that is conscious, curious, and committed to real-world issues. We don’t teach science for the sake of knowledge alone—we teach it for impact. Connecting space with sustainability is not just an innovative idea; it’s a message we believe in—to raise global awareness and empower our students to be part of the solutions, not passive observers of the challenges.”

The exhibition concluded with high levels of engagement and praise from students and guests alike, who expressed admiration for the creativity, commitment, and depth of the showcased projects. Attendees commended Canadian School Bahrain for its continued dedication to connecting academic learning with real-world relevance, and for delivering an educational experience with both local and global impact.
