The Canadian School Bahrain proudly hosted the “Space for Sustainability 2025” Fair, a dynamic showcase of student-led projects exploring how space technologies can be harnessed to address global challenges. The event welcomed esteemed guest Ms. Jehan Al-Murbati, Head of the United Nations Development Program, who reiterated her support for the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and praised the students’ growing passion for sustainability and innovation.

Held on the school campus, the fair featured enthusiastic participation from students across all grade levels and welcomed attendees from schools across Bahrain. The event also drew a distinguished audience of officials, educators, and representatives from leading institutions.

The initiative aimed to spotlight the vital role of space technologies, such as satellites and remote sensing, in advancing the SDGs. Through hands-on exhibits and presentations, students demonstrated how these tools can be applied to critical issues like climate change, renewable energy, water conservation, healthcare, and education.

Notable attendees included Mrs. Mariam Al-Kooheji, Head of the Executive Committee; Dr. Bilal El Dandachi, School Principal; and Mrs. Abby Saadeh, Academic Principal.

Mrs. Mariam Al-Kooheji, Head of the Executive Committee, remarked, It is inspiring to see our students take on complex global issues with such confidence, creativity, and purpose. Events like these prove that education, when connected to real-world challenges, can empower the next generation to become leaders of change.”

At the Canadian School Bahrain, students learn cross-curricularly. Topics such as sustainability are not confined to science but thoughtfully integrated into English, Mathematics, Art, Arabic, and other subjects. This approach promotes a holistic understanding of global issues through diverse academic lenses.

Mrs. Abby Saadeh, Academic Principal, added, This fair is a reflection of the power of cross-curricular learning. When students explore sustainability through multiple subjects, they gain not only knowledge but also the critical thinking and problem-solving skills needed to make a real difference in the world.”

The event concluded with widespread praise for the student initiatives, which blended scientific innovation with real-world purpose. The “Space for Sustainability 2025” Fair reaffirmed the Canadian School Bahrain’s role as a trailblazer in education, where academic excellence meets global citizenship and meaningful impact.
